I'm very excited to be included in Curate NYC, a juried exhibition of NYC Visual Artists funded by NYC Economic Development Corporation and Full Spectrum Experience, Inc. There will be a series of exhibitions across the five boroughs. Chosen from more than 1,500 submissions my painting Laundry, Alphabet City will be in the show at Crossing Art Gallery, Flushing, Queens from December 10th - 31st 2011.
Plus Flushing's Chinatown is such a fun place to explore! Just 19 minutes from Penn Station on the LIRR line.

For the past four years I've been working on a series of labels for the Northern Michigan-based family company American Spoon. 61 different preserves, marmalades, relishes, condiments, and grilling sauces bearing labels with my illustrations now line American Spoon’s stores and cafes in Michigan as well as retail outlets around the United States, including some varieties in our local Wholefoods. More flavors are in the pipeline.

Bags for Demystifying Seafood Event at the Smithsonian Institute

The bags that I designed for the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History's Demystifying Seafood, The Ocean and Its Bounty conference and special foodie event arrived yesterday. Thank you Julie! Celebrating edible ocean life, my illustrations are of sustainable species from the US Gulf.

30 Artists/ 30 Years. A National Juried Exhibition of League Alumni

One of my New York cityscapes watercolors 42nd Street Pizza has been chosen for 30 Artists / 30 Years - The Art Students League National Juried Exhibition of League Alumni. More than 300 artists who have studied at the League between 1980 and 2010 applied to participate in this competition.

And I'm very honored - my painting is on the invitation!

I've heard from the Denver Botanical Gardens that my November Botanical Illustration class filled up immediately and now has a substantial waiting list for it!

2010 Merit Scholarship Winners Exhibition, The Art Students League of New York

One of my paintings is included in the 2010 Merit Scholarship Winners Exhibition at the Art Students League of New York at 215 West 57th Street. Gallery hours Monday - Friday 9 - 8.30, Saturday 9 - 4.45, Sunday closed.

It's an excellent show - especially as five of my excellent tutor, Paul Ching Bor's students are represented. The painting is part of a series I am working on of NY storefronts. When I've done ten to my satisfaction I'm going to look for a gallery. The grocery store is opposite our apartment - it's since had a facelift!

I'm very pleased that my website has been bought up to date thanks to Claire Louise's hard work. The design hasn't altered but the codes which were very antiquated have been bought up to date. It's working much better now!

She is also responsible for one of the most beautiful envelopes that Joe and I have ever recieved:

If you look carefully you can see our house in Ireland with Joe fishing in the bay and Rabbit Island in the background.

UK Sussex Seafood banners

Just arrived – a PDF of the six two meter high banners designed for the launch of the UK Sussex Sea Fisheries District Committee Inshore Sustainable Fisheries Project and using some of my seafood illustrations. Containing information about the seafood’s biology, ecology and stock status, they will be used at the event's launch and at various open days along the Sussex coast. I'm very pleased with how they have turned out.
